July moments
Each month I take hundreds of photos of our life and select twenty to share here. At heart I’m someone who loves documenting the everyday moments and noticing how life unfolds month by month.
July was a month of managing the heat, holding memories of precious endings, and sinking into the summer with gusto spending over a week of it in Cornwall on holiday.
Hot days and cooler evenings felt more manageable this month, trips to the beach felt restorative as we jumped the waves, and fun days out as a family meant we soaked up the time together. I’m holding this summer close to my heart.
I captured so many photos this month, of sports day, the end of year 2 play, time together as a family, beautiful places I’ve seen, family and friends we’ve seen and our garden. All will be part of my Project Life scrapbook pages for the month.
Here are a selection of the favourite photos I took this month:
1. Fields harvested at the end of the month.
2. Summer dresses, sandals and beautiful plants at RHS Badminton with @claudyfoxgardens
3. My magazine stack for the month - I’ve been reading magazines since my early 20s and this is what my subscription stack looks like now. It hasn’t changed in four years.
4. Sunshine, tea, blue sky and smiles. Time in our garden each morning with a cuppa has become part of my weekday rhythm.
5. Juno found a new cool space to sit in our garden.
6. Evening sun and wine at the end of a week.
7. Skipping to school at the end of term.
8. Cherishing the chats and moments on one of the final walks to infant school.
9. Fun neon bunting in Falmouth.
10. Visiting the National Maritime Museum in Cornwall. We loved the layout of this museum and the viewpoint tower.
11. Surf! 100 years of waveriding in Cornwall exhibition was beautifully curated.
12. Wildlife spotting on a boat trip.
13. Walking to a quiet beach for lunch.
14. A tasty treat at Caffe Rojano after a long walk in Padstow.
15. Blackberries ripe and ready mid-month.
16. I made a costume (my first!) for the school play. I bought the hoody and made the sloth face and big claws. Loved this project which took about 5 hours of sewing.
17. Mid-week walks in the park appreciating the shade of trees.
18. I loved this book, one of three books read this month.
19. Parched and cracked soil at the end of the month.
20. Appreciating all the beautiful pocket gardens at RHS Badminton.
