My Journal & Blog

For over 10 years I’ve been sharing stories of my life, how I connect with the seasons, my word of the year, creative projects and reflections about life. My blog was started one autumnal day in 2011, I’ve always blogged when I have something I want to share, sometimes it’s monthly, sometimes seasonally, shared imperfectly and in a way I want to show up to in this space. I’ve found along the way that I love to share my photography, words and thoughts in a space of mine to call my own. It’s one of the many ways I like to tap into my creativity, share my learnings and provides a way for you to get to know me a little more.

I hope you enjoy connecting to a little piece of my seasonal life and feel inspired to reconnect to nature’s seasons and the wisdom it teaches us.

Live gently and live joyfully.

Living gently and joyfully is at the heart of how I strive to cultivate an intentional life each season.

Today is Beltane, or May Day, it’s one of my favourite Wheel of the Year festivals.

A time to celebrate the warmer weather, the greening of the landscape, blossoming trees and plants, the longer days, joy and love.

Yesterday was my last working day at Pukka.

I’ve had the most wonderful 6 years helping to shape our culture and Pukka’s essence. I feel incredibly grateful for having the opportunity to work for such an ethical and purpose-led business
Pink blossom, tulips, hyacinths and beautiful bright new leaves are blooming and unfurling all around us at the moment. Spring is putting on a wonderful display this weekend.

The bulbs are bursting through the soil in our garden, filling the beds with greenery and me with excitement as my late bulb planting springs into life.

A new year begins…I’m hibernating, resting, and snuggling under blankets whilst I hear the pouring rain lash against the windows, the wind battering the house and whistling in the chimney stacks.

My book stack - 22 books read in 2022…

I decided this was the year to read more fiction, enjoy cosy feel-good books, and gently grow a new habit of reading.

It’s a big achievement for me. The past few years I’ve managed to read
The Winter Solstice, or Yule, is a celebration of the shortest day of the year. For those of us in the northern hemisphere the Winter Solstice marks the start of astronomical winter, or mid-winter if you follow the Celtic Wheel of the Year.

Wintery walks and frosty leaves.

Tucked into the edge of a pavement a beautiful collection of frosted autumnal leaves caught my eye.

I love noticing the details, taking a moment to pause and appreciating the feeling of the seasons shifting.

There’s something about cold days and blue skies which fill me with joy.

Perhaps it’s the sunrise and sunset which bookend these days, how the light shifts the feeling of our home, and the contrasts of all the autumnal colours, which br
Autumn shifts steadily into winter…The many colours of autumn leaves are still going strong in our local park, water droplets cling to pine needles, berries glisten, and damp leaves decorate the paths and create bright carpets.
