Cultivate and live a creative and wholesome life through the seasons

Welcome to my blog . I started writing my personal blog in 2011 when it was called The Pink Button Tree, showing my evolution of being creative and connecting to nature in a more mindful way. In 2019 this space transformed into the place you see it today, as part of my website for my bespoke seasonal coaching practice.

I love sharing photos and connecting with fellow Instagrammers and creativity seekers. It’s my way to be creatively confident, inspired by the community, and have a creative moment in every day.

Snowdrops filled our local park for most of January and early February. They are now starting to fade away and be replaced by crocuses. I love the gentle shifts and changes...this week I’ve gathered my musings and noticings from January and have written a blog post to help journal my year. #journaling #journalingmyyear #snowdrops #embracingtheseasonalshift #embracingtheseasons #januaryjournal #littlestoriesofmylife
Nurture was my One Little Word 2018 and I’ve written about how it shaped my life last year over on my blog. I’ve been taking part in @aliedwards One Little Word course since 2013 and last year became a very special year for me and my chosen word. ⁣
⁣
You may notice the new space where my blog is sitting. My blog is now part of my new website which is home to my seasonal coaching for creativity seekers business, lucyellenhill.com. A long awaited dream of creating my portfolio career and at last launching the coaching practice that has been in concept for some time. Thank you to those who have been cheering me on and hearing about my plans for my coaching business. I hope that it inspires people to have space to cultivate and live their version of a creative and wholesome life through the seasons. ⁣

This week I’ve been working on finishing off @susannahconway Unravel your Year book too, something I’ve done since 2014. I’ve taken it slow to savour the process and give myself space to think and am excited about the plans for the year. #embracingtheseasons #littlestoriesofmylife #journaling #onelittleword #aliedwards #unravelyouryear2019 #journaling #theseasonalcoachforcreativityseekers #nlpcoaching #lifepassioncoaching #walkingcoach #walkingcoachinginbristol #walkingcoaching #coachinginnature #creativitycoach #creativitycoachbristol #inspiredbynature
Juno loving the snow a week ago today. It’s pouring with rain in Brizzle today what a difference a week can make! #dogsofinstagram #winterwalk #embracingtheseasons
These boots are made for walking...these have been with me since I was about 15 years old when my parents took me to a shop called Peglers in Arundel to get a few things for the expedition part of my Bronze D of E award. I remember my Dad saying that he hoped I’d get a lot of wear out of them (they were the most expensive shoes I owned at £95 which at the time in the 1990s was really pricey). I love them and they are so good to stomp in any weather and perfect for the snow we had last week. #littlestoriesofmylife #embracingtheseasons #winterwalk #thequietwinter
Snowdrops emerging from the snow. We didn’t have to travel far to see these, our local park is just a short walk from our home and has hundreds of these beautiful flowers carpeting the space under the trees. I walk to this park most days and love seeing the shifts in the seasons. #littlestoriesofmylife #naturephotography #natureinthecity #snowday #snowdrops #britishnature #britishwinter #igersbristol #savourtheseasonalshift #embracingtheseasons #thequietwinter
Snowy views from our high street captured this weekend after the snow storm. I love that we are in the city and can see countryside views from where we live. There is something so magical about seeing snow covered rooftops and fields. We feel so lucky to live a few minutes walk from a super practical high street with lots of lovely independent shops and views like this. I hope your weekend has been restful and enjoyable in the snow.

Today is the winter solstice and the start of winter. It’s the time for blankets, twinkly fairy lights, candles, quality time with friends and family, and a time to hibernate. Around this time of year I begin a period of deep reflection. ⁣
⁣
I review the year and think ahead using @susannahconway Unravel Your Year workbook she so kindly creates each year. I think this year will be my fourth or fifth year using it. ⁣Thank you Susannah for creating it. ⁣

I reflect on the word I’ve had for the year and make decisions on my One Little Word for the coming year, joining the class and group taking @aliedwards brilliant and inspiring online class.⁣ Next year will be the 7th year of taking the class and having a word of the year. ⁣
I like to make notes in my journal based on my own reflection questions I’ve created and I make a big picture plan of the year. I visualise what I want to bring in for the year ahead, how I want to feel and what I want to hear. ⁣
⁣
For the first time in a while I’m drafting a blog post to write up the highlights of the year and what I’ve learned. It’s been in progress on and off during the past week or so but I have a quiet determination that I will publish it ahead of the new year.
Like the bare branches of these trees that are conserving their energy, I invite you to start reflecting, planning and hibernating for this winter season. Stock up on what you need in terms of your energy and a fresh mentality, and get ready for the next phase. Notice what you do to make things happen in your life and capture it in words. Having a focus on you during the moments between Christmas and New year is the perfect time to prepare for the year ahead. #wintersolstice #embracingtheseasons #wintertrees #reflectingonlife #littlestoriesofmylife
Autumn has been a bit of a blur so far. Adjusting to life as a Mum where the smallest thing I can fit into my day is an achievement. Getting the washing done, part of the house tidied, and having lunch have sometimes felt like the hardest things to fit in. It’s been really tough at times with a lack of sleep impacting on how I’m feeling. Each day is different and each morning I start again with a few simple intentions for the day to keep my head together. What has kept me feeling me is making time and efforts to get outside and have a walk with Chris and Juno. In amongst the blur of the days I’ve seen the leaves change and fall, connecting me to the season of change. It’s an autumn I’ll never forget. #autumn #lifechanges #seasonofchange #newmum #littlestoriesofmylife #capturethemoment #autumnleaves #gratitude #settingintentions
